The CFO of today is facing a rapidly changing environment. Previously, the CFO’s core responsibility lay with the finance function alone. But today, enabled by innovation and technological development, the CFO now has the opportunity to deliver an entirely new value proposition. To remain at the top, CFOs have to act and capture the full potential of emerging technologies and implement them through inspiring leadership and operational excellence. Building on this, CFO Insights 2019 will address which competencies are needed to succeed as CFO today and in the future. It will give insights into which tools you should invest in, what type of mindset is paramount to succeed and how you create more value for your customers. This year’s conference will present inspiring cases, panel debates and workshops, that will give insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the modern CFO. Three tracks will guide the conference: Strategy and Leadership, Financial Management through Operational Excellence and Technological Value Creation. (Each will they dive into a specific theme, and in combination address how the CFO can create value in a digital era.)
The first track will address how the requirements and tasks of today’s CFO is expanding into new areas. Beyond having responsibility for the finance function, the modern CFO is now asked to be a strategic advisor on multiple areas important to the firm. The track will address how the CFO is becoming a strategic partner to the CEO and dive into transformation management, the challenges and opportunities of mergers, and how the CFO can create value by being a member on the board.
The second track of the conferences will target how financial management can be improved through better operationalisation. It will address how investing resources in the right technology can help you achieve operational excellence, through analytics, data management and freeing up resources. The track will include workshops in order to fully prepare participants to apply and utilise the tools presented within their organisation.
The third track aim at providing insights into what challenges and opportunities arises as results of technological development and innovation. This will include how technological advancement is affecting and challenging the traditional business models of incumbents, and how you can create value for your organization through introducing new technological innovations.
